Triumph launches new bike Daytona 675 at Auto Expo, price Rs. 10.15 lakh - Hindustan Times

Iconic British bike maker Triumph on Thursday expanded its product portfolio in India with the launch of 'Daytona 675' having a price tag of Rs. 10.15 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) at the Auto Expo in Greater Noida.

The new bike is expected to give Triumph Motorcycles a competitive edge within the super sports segment of the market.

With the launch of 'Daytona 675', Triumph now have eleven motorcycles on sale in the Indian market. Triumph strode into the Indian market with 10 models in November 2012.

The company, which has two stores in India, plans to take the number to nine by the end of Mach. Triumph's exclusive dealership are currently operational in Hyderabad and Bangalore.

The bike maker will next open dealerships in Chennai, Kochi, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Delhi and Kolkata.

"India is an exceptionally exciting market for us and the premium motorcycle segment in the country is seeing tremendous growth.Since launch of  bikes last year,  over 100 orders have been taken and now with the introduction off the Daytona 675 this will give us further opportunity to grow," Triumph Motorcycles Director Sales and Marketing (Global) Paul Stroud told reporters at the 12th Auto Expo here.

The company, which has received 160 advance bookings in Bangalore and Hyderabad, will start bookings for Delhi and Chennai from Thursday.

Overall, the company aims to sell 500 bikes over the next six months, and take it to 1,000 units by year end and 1,500 units by mid 2015.

In 2013, the company launched 10 brands in the country including Bonneville T100, Daytona 675R, Street Triple, Speed Triple and Thruxton.

Triumph is the largest British motorcycle manufacturer and has more than 740 dealers across the world.
