Microsoft accused of sending sexist Xbox-One promotion letter to customers - Daily News & Analysis
Technology giant Microsoft was accused of sending `sexist and patronizing` Xbox One promotion letters to customers with a view to persuade their partners to purchase the products.
The company has been forced to change the phrases in the letter and issue an unconditional apology, Huffington Post reports
Xbox One's promotion, titled "We got your back", came in the form of a letter designed to help would-be purchasers convince their significant others that the console was versatile and a good investment.
According to the report, certain default phrases seemed to imply the letter was targeted at men attempting to persuade girlfriends or wives for buying the gaming console.
Microsoft, meanwhile, has changed some of the default phrases to avoid controversies that can affect its sales.
