Google discontinues the Nexus 7 tablet - ThaiVisa News

It seems like just a matter of time, but now it's been officially confirmed – Google's Nexus 7 tablet is now discontinued. The affordable and feature-rich 7-inch tablet has disappeared from the Google Store, where a red label states that the device is no longer available for purchase.

Google Asus-made Nexus 7 was getting rather long in the tooth – as it first launched back in July 2003, but it remained quite a compelling tablet option because Google kept it up to date with the very latest versions of Android.

Nonetheless, it's time has passed, and it has now officially been replaced by the newer Nexus 9 device. If you are still looking for a Nexus 7, however, you should be able to find one from third-party stores such as Amazon, that is until the supplies dry up.

Unless you opt for the most expensive configuration, which is 32 GB with 4G network connectivity, most models cost less than half of Google's newer and bigger do. A Google spokesperson has reportedly said there is still some limited inventory at stores and mobile phone companies, but the focus is now the Nexus 9 for the moment.

Do you own a Nexus 7 tablet, or any other tablet for that matter? Will the Nexus 7 line be missed? Let us know in the comments below.
