Google makes Instagram debut with Rubik's Cube video post - Firstpost

One would think given Google's emphasis on the photos functionality of Google+, that would remain its primary point of communication for that medium, but yesterday the company jumped on a different bandwagon to show fans all things Google. And it's Instagram.

Google made a splash on the Facebook-owned app yesterday, kicking things off with a video post of the interactive Rubik's Cube doodle from yesterday. That's the only post so far, but we expect future Google Doodles to get this as a new home.

The official account is following only the official YouTube, Google Maps, and Google Glass IDs at the moment, but has already racked up over 21,000 followers. The bio reads: Google unfiltered – sometimes with filters.

We suppose this would just be another communication tool for Google, just like its Facebook and Twitter accounts, though we have to wonder what took them so long.
