Fall Out Boy have jumped on the Flappy Bird bandwagon with a their own spoof app called Fall Out Bird.

Flappy Bird was taken down from online stores after its creator Dong Nguyen said it was too addictive.

But for those suffering from withdrawal symptoms, you can now try Fall Out Boy's own version.

The band announced the new app saying: 'Rome wasn't built in a day, but this game was. Coming … as soon as it's approved.'

According to their Twitter page, the game took less than 24 hours to code and will be available 'this week' to iOS and Android users.

Fall Out Bird has already spawned a parody Twitter account even before it's been released.

sighfalloutbird posted: 'This game is already giving me troubled thoughts and the self esteem to match.'

Then added: 'I Tapped Someone In Fall Out Bird And All I Got Was A Heart Attack.'

Flappy Bird, which involves steering a bird between green pipes, was hugely popular before it was axed.

Fall Out Boy's version features bandmembers Pete Wentz, Joe Trohman, Andy Hurley and Patrick Stump.

It's not the first time the band have created a parody videogame – they released Fall Out Boy Trail in 2009, a version of the classic game Oregon Trail.
