First Firefox OS tablet to come with a quad-core chip, 10.1-inch 1280x800 pixels ... - IntoMobile

We've already heard that Mozilla is working on a Firefox OS-based tablet. Now we have few details to share about this upcoming device thanks to the company's very own Asa Dotzler.

From this blog post, we learn that the first tablet running Mozilla's mobile platform will come with an A31 quad-core 1GHz Cortex A7 processor coupled with PowerVR SGX544MP2 graphics, 10.1-inch IPS screen with resolution of 1280 x 800, Wi-Fi connectivity and 2GB of RAM. It addition, it boasts 16GB of expandable storage, 7,000 mAh battery, as well as a pair of cameras – 5-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front-facing one.

Unfortunately, we're still clueless about this tablet's availability date and pricing. Hopefully, these and some other details will be known in a month or so, when Mozilla spills the beans on its plans at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Chances are this device will start its life in the world's emerging markets, and as far as we (don't) know – it may never be sold in the Western hemisphere. We'll see…
